Where can I find guitar SCALES?

I’ve been trying to learn Harmonic/Pentatonic scales and I’ve learned few patterns of these scales from a friend and he’s no longer here so I would like to know where else I could find GUITAR SCALES IN PATTERNS. I can’t understand from guitar pro or websites with all those black and red dot full fretboarded diagrams.

Thanks.

Here is a good site for riffs, scales if YOU can read music. The site has to be one of the simplest and most efficient because it lays out 3 or 4 different patters per key which is what you want..

and check this site from Blues guitar to Rock to whatever

Hi, Is this a good site to learn guitar scales?

http://www.pluckandplayguitar.com/guitar-scales.html

The Major Scale
•The Minor Pentatonic Scale
•The Major Pentatonic Scale
•The Blues Scale
•The Minor Scale

- are those really the scales that I should learn?

thanks

I’ve never seen that site before, and it looks really informative, there is a diverse selection of sites out there, and you might do well to check others too, to give you a better perspective;
Learn the Major scale first, because all the others are derived from that.

What should i get for first electric guitar?

Buying first electric guitar, tight budget. 200 – 250 including amp, play in small apartment.
Mostly play lead, and pop + rock
does not plan to join band, play solo.
Currently playing acoustic guitar for half a year, self taught. Also just begun taking classical guitar lessons.
Please include the FULL name (i’m totally new to this…) of the guitar, who made it, and where i can get it, including price also please. I live in USA washington.
thanks.

What is up with these guitar scales?

Hey I am new to guitar and this might be a stupid question but I am confused by these scales. I don’t understand what they are, I am learning the blues and pentatonic scales. How would you read these on a piece of music? I understand that its a scale but are they notes, and what do they mean in context to playing with certain chords?

That’s such a great question!

Scales can be useful for the following reasons:

1) They help your "ear" to hear the relationships between notes and chords.

2) They help you develop your motor skills and technique on guitar.

3) They help you "map" out your fretboard.

What are they? Besides a group of notes (as already very well pointed out in other answers), they are RELATED to certain chords. The chords and the scale are like 2 pieces of a jigsaw puzzle that fit together. You could think of chords as being Vertical sound and scales as being Horizontal sound.

As a beginner, they are most useful to you to get your fingers moving and your ear more attuned to music.

As you advance, scales become a basic framework to create your own music from. Good luck and keep playing icon smile What is up with these guitar scales?

are guitar scales and bass scals the same?

Hi…

Absolutly…

a scale is a group of musical notes collected in ascending and descending…

in your case… imagine a piano, cut it in the middle, to the left the Bass and to the right the Piano/Guitar/other instrument…

By example you will find many C notes position but different pitch…
